If your batch shows a batch cost of $0.00, you can set a new cost. Batch costs may show $0.00 if the batch existed prior to enabling batch costs, if materials added had $0.00 as the average unit costs, or if no raw materials were added to a batch.
If you know the cost of a batch, you can set the batch cost manually. To do this:
- Navigate to the batch details page for the batch you wish to update (from Operations - Overview, click on the Batch Type name under a container's name).
- Click Batch Actions / Edit
- In Batch Cost field, enter the cost of the batch. Click "Update" when finished.
As you move and transfer the spirit throughout Dx5, the batch cost will transfer with it. For example, if you move 40% of the batch into a new container, 40% of that batch cost will move with it (it will be added if transferring into an existing batch).
