Best Practices: FAQs on Changing Batch Types

My spirit is listed as batch type XX, but should be YY.

You may change the spirit to YY via Batch Actions / Edit. Restrictions apply in the Storage account in accordance with 27 CFR 19.326; you may not change the spirit type in Storage, so options outside of the set Spirit Type will not be available.

I barreled into the wrong batch type, though. 

Again, if both batch types are, for example, Whiskey, Batch Actions / Edit will allow you to switch.

If the desired batch type is a different spirit type and the fill just happened, Undo the fill from within the barreled batch, change the batch type, and refill the barrel.

If Undo is unavailable, harvest the spirit into Bulk Storage, then transfer to Bulk Production. Use Batch Actions / Edit to change the batch type, then fill the barrel again.

Every time I apply recipe ABC, the spirit changes from XX to YY. Can Dx5 do this for me?

Using the Batch Type Modifier option in your recipe will tell Dx5 to automatically switch XX to YY when recipe ABC is applied. More information on Batch Type Modifier can be found here, and instructions for changing a recipe/formula here.
