DISTILL x 5 employs "Roles" for managing user permissions. Each Role defines a set of permissions.
Users can be assigned one Role, or multiple Roles.
In the case of a user who has multiple Roles, DISTILL x 5 will grant access according to a whitelist model. For example, you might have a "Sales" Role with Fulfillment access and a "Purchasing" Role with Inventory access. If you add a user to your system and grant them both "Sales" and "Purchasing" Roles, they'll be able to access both Fulfillment and Inventory.
Users should always have at least one Role with at least one permission defined in that Role. Unintended behavior may result if users have no Role defined.
By default, your system includes a "Local System Admin" Role which has all system privileges enabled. This Role should not be modified, because it is required for certain inventory revaluations.
To add new Roles:
Navigate to: Admin > Users & Roles:
Under User Management, in the upper right corner, select Add Role:
Name the Role as appropriate ("General Employee", "Distiller", etc.) and add a brief description to identify who will fit this Role:
Select the appropriate system permissions for this type of user and click Add Role:
To edit Roles:
Navigate to: Admin > Users & Roles:
Locate the Role that you'd like to edit, click the blue downward-pointing chevron, and click "Modify Role":
Adjust the permissions and click "Modify Role" to store your changes:
