If you are unable to complete a Bottling in Dx5, review the possible issues and solutions below to troubleshoot:
- First, ensure the applicable Finished Product is attached to the source Batch Type by navigating to Operations > Setup > Batch Types to verify that the Finished Product is attached. See this article for additional details on completing this action. Once the Finished Product is attached to your source Batch Type, you can begin bottling again.
- If the above isn't applicable, next confirm that the proof of the source batch's spirit you are trying to bottle matches the bottling proof of the attached Finished Product. To ensure bottling accuracy/compliance, the system requires that the spirit being bottled has the same proof as the attached Finished Product. For more details, see this article.
Tip: If you are bottling variable proof/cask strength Finished Products under the same source batch type, i.e. cask strength whiskey, you will want to set up a new Finished Product for each product with the accurate varying proofs that need to be bottled. View this short video to learn how to create a Finished Product in Dx5.
When you no longer need the Finished Product with a correlating cask strength proof, you can simply deactivate it to remove the product from your active Finished Product list. Following this workflow will ensure that your spirit is properly tracked, resulting in accurate reporting data!
