There are two methods to account for simple syrup in DISTILL x 5:
1. Add Simple Syrups or Flavorings as Raw Materials:
- Navigate to Inventory / Overview
- Click +Add Item in top-right of screen.
- Enter the following details:
- Category: Raw Materials
- Reporting Type: Not Reported
- Track By: Volume
- Save Item
2. Add Sugar as Raw Material, and account for Water via Recalibrate
- Navigate to Inventory / Overview
- Click +Add Item in top-right of screen.
- Enter the following details:
- Category: Raw Materials
- Reporting Type: Not Reported
- Track By: Weight
- Save Item
- Account for Water via Batch Action / Recalibrate
Both methods will require users to gauge spirit after sugar additions. Use Batch Actions / Recalibrate to account for any changes in proof and/or volume. Dx5 will not account for changes in volume or proof when adding recipes/formulas/ingredients to a batch.
NOTE: Blending sugar and sugar products into spirit requires the use of one of the TTB-Approved Methods of Proofing. Frequently used methods can be found here: https://www.ttb.gov/spirits/proofing.shtml
